I love the repurposing of the water-pourer. Is she pouring water for milady's bath, or is she dousing a street preacher? Why not both!

In a white bowl, water is not blue.
Nor is it blue in a tin tub, nor in the folds on human skin.

True, John. But we're dealing what is perception, not reality. Another example: I once did a diorama of a VN period river monitor in murky tan water (based off an actual photo and a description from a former riverine crew member). Totally accurate, but got nothing but grief for it.

Could also be repurposed for a chamber pot.

Must agree. Blue water is pre-teen painting.

I remember reading a review of the film "Water" in our local paper some years ago, written by a very junior journalist. "Water," she began the review, "is an odourless, tasteless, blue liquid…"

Too much blue curacao at the office party, I think…

yarr6804 Oct 2014 9:49 a.m. PST

I think the blue looks pretty cool, If you don't like the blue water, pray tell how you're supposed to paint it?

StarfuryXL504 Oct 2014 2:56 p.m. PST

It's probably the perfumes or other additives tinting the water.

Sobieski04 Oct 2014 7:31 p.m. PST

Tartan, obviously. No less accurate.

jpattern205 Oct 2014 8:39 a.m. PST

I think they sell "Clear Water" paint in the same stores that stock "Black Watch Tartan Plaid" paint.

The blue water doesn't bother me in the least.

The floor also looks like particle board, and the OFM isn't complaining about that. Sometimes (most of the time?) I think he posts little inconsequential rants like this for no reason other than to maintain his curmudgeonly bona fides.

Twisted as I am, I think do the 'water' red and you have a Lady Elizabeth Bathory diorama.

tkdguy08 Oct 2014 9:03 p.m. PST

That's actually a great idea, especially with Halloween coming up.
