Looking past my next project in line, I am wondering if anyone out there makes 28mm Vedic Indians or Meroitic Kushites? Hopefully larger 28mm, that look right when alongside Wargames Factory minis?

It will be time to field an elephant!

Any good?

Those definitely work for the Meroitic Kushites! I would just need to sort out the Elephant-mounted General. But I am no stranger to conversion work!

Thank you, Tarantella.

You could have a browse through here…

Thanks Cerdic, I have bookmarked that!

A Meroitic King in pharaonic headgear astride a forest elephant (extinct sub species now I believe) would be awesome.

Vedic Indians would include mainly foot spearmen and archers (figures from the later period would probably have to do), the ubiquitous noble charioteers in light chariots and maybe a general in possibly a larger ornate 4 horse chariot or on a crewed elephant with escorts on foot.

If there are no dedicated Vedic ranges out there, and the best option is to use figures from later periods, then I am all set with the Sgt. Major range.

Thanks Tarantella and Cerdic!

Another option is to look at Essex 28mm, not sure whether these would fit the Vedic theme but they are nice figures.

I accidentally acquired 2 of their foot figures and they are a good size, maybe not quite as large as Sgt Major's. Shame Essex does not have photos of the full range and am not sure about that General in a howdah?

Essex is sadly too small for my needs, as is Foundry. I have many examples of each in my collection (or at least I used to, not sure what happened to a lot of stuff during the Great Purge Of 2012.)

Where can you find illustrations of Vedic-era "Aryan Invader" warriors??

Kind'a hard to convert "Poros-era" warriors to serve 1000 years or so earlier without an idea of what they should have looked like back then??
