"More Badab War" Topic

Hello,

Just finished a Fire Hawk test paint for the Badab War project. Old armor, updated color scheme.

I'm happy with the way he turned out, though I'm not too keen on painting that chapter emblem more than once. I think I need decal paper…

More to come.

One thing that might make it easier would be to get your hands on some of the old Legion of the Damned shoulder pads. Then the design would be there already.

Just brill, yes need to get going on some art work for the emblems. I'm getting restless and will breakout all my old beakys soon too:) time to update and get some old Rouge Trader nostalgia going.
I just read the Badab Wiki too so lots of scope there and am perusing some other chapters too.

Zargon: Thanks! I'm glad it inspired a project for you. I've been devouring the Wiki stuff and the individual chapter histories. Mantis Warriors were always one of my favorites, and now that some of the guys in our club are doing armies, we should see some games once some stuff gets painted. One of the neat things about the war is that a lot of the fighting was boarding actions and fleet battles, so you can bust out Space Hulk and Battle Fleet Gothic.

I think our first game is going to be a Space Hulk game.

Haywire: Not sure about that. I know there is a guy that sells some of the chapter shoulder pads on Shapeways. My friend picked up a bunch of the Lamenters checked shoulder pads because he said painting all those checks would drive him insane (can't say I blame him!). I'll have to check out Chapterhouse.

Chapterhouse has some great stuff but don't expect to receive any items soon. My first order took three months and my second order closer to five. So as long as you're very patient, you'll be satisfied with a decent product.
I picked up the skull rhino doors, iron hands shield, the land raider conversion kit, a set of land raider decorated doors, and the razorback turret kit, not to mention the OOP conversion Beamer. He has done Salamander comparable items but the only thing really useful for Legion of the Damned(as opposed to Fire Hawks) are the Rhino doors I mentioned.
Very satisfied with the product.
