Hope you can help me. I just purchased some awesome AB Brit and German anti-tank gun crews (6 pounder and Pak 40). Before I spend some money on purchasing anti-tank guns, I could use your advice. Found some nice plastic Pak 40 models but they are 1:72. I found both a 1:76 and 1:72 Brit 6-pounder. AB figures are closer to 1/76 than 1/72. Am I going to have a funny looking base if I have 1/76 scale miniatures around a 1/72 anti-tank gun. If anyone has any pix that would be great. Thanks as always for help. |

They could be a WWII version of a " Bantam Battalion". |

AB Crew with 1/72 6-Pounder…
I use pretty much all 1/72 these days and I have a fair few AB figures… |

Brilliant! Is that the PSC 6-pounder? Thank you! |

I think this stuff matters less with guns and crews than it does wrt mixing vehicles. I'v got 1/76th guns with 1/72nd scale crews and vice versa (and everything in between given the variability of figure and vehicle 'scale'). My Armorfast M10s are also heroically crewed by cut down Airfix 25pdr gunners. |

I agree with Martin . You can also get away with mixing some of the smaller vehicles as well such as Motor bikes etc. It only becomes most noticeable with the larger vehicles such as Panthers , Tigers and even MK4s . An example of my rule of thumb, is if I say select a 1/76th Sherman, then anything Sherman related eg M10s, M36s etc will need to be the same scale as well .But I could use and get away with say a 1/72nd Cromwell and still look OK because it is a different family of tanks. |

Its never really bothered me much, although I have one set of vehicles mentioned above (armourfast M10's) which are big old things and they are crewed by milicast resin americans…and they do look slightly "lost" swimming about in the enormous turret space – but they are lovely figures (albeit a right royal pita to put together). |

Peter Pig's Really Useful Guns range is actually designed as 18mm so people can use them with both 15mm and 20mm armies, so exact size obviously isn't that important. |

Garrison Miniatures, Irregular Miniatures make the Really Useful Guns range. |

For tanks and other large bits of kit which are all the same size, there's a significant difference between 1/72 and 1/72. But humans vary far more than that – a model representing a 6 foot bloke in 1/76 is a 5 foot 8 inch bloke in 1/72. Unless they've been picked to be the same height (as in some household guard units) a set of models which are all the same size is actually less realistic than one with significant variation. But we the public seem to expect identically sized humans in our model packs. |

Thanks everyone. I am going to order some Elheim guns for my AB crews… Let's see how they turn out. Appreciate all of the help. |
