They were just great. I recently re-read all my TTA books. Great inspiration.

Simply wonderful. I wish someone with that level of 3D animation talent would cook up something involving our SD:TNM space fighters, but until then, I can live vicariously through these magnificent old school imaginings… I checked out the original books from the local public library when I was a kid so many times I lost count…. evil grin

The video really does show love; at least, I hope so.

Terrible curse, projection…

I never got over the 'what a hack job of retread book covers' sense, and loved them all the more for it. Been awhile, but over the years, I've gone back to them again and again and felt the joy.

Wherever Mister Crowley is, hats off to him!

Takes me back, too. Never had enough money to buy the books, so I would spend hours in the mall bookstore pouring over them.

Chris Foss is another artist I admire.

Lupulus03 Oct 2014 3:07 p.m. PST

Wow, that takes me back.

I bought the books at the age of twelve or so, and spent many hours in my room building paper models of the ships out of heavy paper and enormous amounts of tape. Still amazed at what pre-teen me managed to produce.

Really nice! MIssed these the first time. Glad to see them now.

SBminisguy07 Oct 2014 8:05 a.m. PST

@BlackWidowPilot, yeah, I'd love to see some of these models in 3D print/cast for gaming.

BlackWidowPilot Fezian07 Oct 2014 3:04 p.m. PST

You and me both, SB, you and me both! I am aware of a larger scale model of the Hornet done in limited run resin, but as for availability I am not so sure, and it was IIRC rather too large for wargaming purposes except perhaps as a grounded ship for 15mm games…

Hmmm…. anybody know if the TTA RPG people had any plans to do something on the miniatures end of things?

Damn missed memo!
