No kidding. I'm watching it outside my window across the street right now. There has to be a way to fight that out with Splintered Light minis, though I would want unarmed squirrels … |

I believe Reaper has sone unarmed squirrels in their Familiars packs, and Iron Wind did once upon a time. |

So, what kind of squirrels? Red, black, grey, flying, grizzled giants, ground squirrels, tree squirrels. You could almost field an army of the little critters. |

We get some pretty verocious battles in our back yard which has a lot of oak trees for real estate. Squirrels are cannibals. This I have seen. |

Last year we had a murderous squirrel that stalked rivals and knocked them out of our 100 foot pine such that they plummeted to the steet below. |

Of course posting the link would help link Fatman shuffles of stage sideways looking sheepish. |

Fat Urban Grey Squirrels, I believe. While a host of them would certainly be dramatic, there were only two of them attack another single. I think this was a territorial battle, due to habitat reduction. The city is making infrastructure improvements one street over, and taking out trees along the street in the process. This leads to the general idea for the game. Kind of like the 80's video game Archon, played in two levels: Operational and Tactical. At the operational level, you assign your squirrels to trees and plan movements to invade others' territory or defend your own in a situation of ever reducing total resources. Then to the tactical level. Based on the operational moves for the turn, you fight a series of squirrel-on-squirrel engagements. I'm trying to figure out a decent way to do justice to the cyclic and 3D nature of the chasing, smacking, jumping, and falling absurd distances and still living. |

Oh, be still my fingers! My word processor program's siren song calls! Remember three-dimensional chess from "Star Trek TOC? Add die rolls for combat resolution, insane movement allowances(zip! zip! zip!), and multiple stacked playing surfaces, and Voila'! Claw and teeth v. Claw and teeth Combat. Give 'em light sabres! Why not. Of course! 8-) |

The squirrels at my college are surprisingly peaceful, and yet vulnerable to blowgun darts from enterprising students…including a human element (like FOF's Fog of War cards) could add an interesting dimension to things. |
