"SAS and American special forces are working with Kurdish fighters on the Iraqi front lines as part of a major offensive to push Isil jihadists back and relieve pressure on the besieged Syria town of Kobane, senior Kurdish military officers have disclosed.

The Kurdish forces launched attacks just before dawn on three fronts – Rabia, on the Syrian border, Zummar, a town near Mosul Dam, and a number of villages near Daquq, south of Kirkuk…"

They're not the problem – it's one of translation.

The ISIS/ISIL problem comes from a translation of an Arabic word which may translate as 'Syria' the 'Levant' (which is Syria and Lebanon).

They've since changed their named to Islamic State, though as people point out, it's neither of those things.

I was pretty sure UK SF would show up to work with the US and others to train, "advise", etc. the Kurds … I still don't think the Iraqi Army is anywhere near, even with re-training to be very good when it comes to Daesh …

The Aussies also are sending 200 "advisors/trainers [probably some SAS in the mix]". They are now flying combat missions along with recon and refueling too …
