Roger Mark has scratch-built an excellent diorama of Robert E. Lee's HQ at Gettysburg which he is offering for sale on eBay as a fundraiser for the Civil War Trust, which is trying to acquire and reinterpret a parcel of land containing the Widow Thompson building. Have a look at this stunning diorama! link And, place a generous bid for a good preservation cause! Scott Mingus Civil War author and lecturer

Agreed, it is stunning. A very attractive diorama and a worthwhile course it is supporting. Well done and I wish you well. Given that is his HQ I am surprised not to see any foot soldiers or others thereabouts, especially as Perry make umpteen suitable sculpts for such a scene. Good luck |

"Given that is his HQ I am surprised not to see any foot soldiers or others thereabouts, especially as Perry make umpteen suitable sculpts for such a scene." Thank you for the kind comments. Most historians agree that the Generals were actually bivouacked in tents along with their soldiers across the Chambersburg Pike. I suppose I'll have to do a second diorama. :) |

The bid is currently at $305. USD This is for a very good cause, so dig deep and keep bidding, TMP community! |
