I sometimes think about buying new figures for a different period, for some random reason. I research the suppliers of the figures, the most appropriate set of rules. Several times buying sets of rules I feel fulfil my needs. I try to decide on the best basing system, sometimes buying pre cut bases, I try to imagine what the table will look like, what terrain do I need etc.
Make up an order, trying to be cost effective with the packs I purchase. Sometimes sacrificing fiscal responsibility for aesthetics.
Down the whole rabbit hole.
Today, I looked at some of my storage drawers…found several projects I'm in the process of completing.
Then decided to try to research and regain my mojo for these projects…retreat from the rabbit hole.

Perhaps you need a blog…

I find a blog is a good place to keep hobby notes. After years of blogging, I don't post for anyone but me now. It comes in handy when I want to find pics or paint plans of projects from 3-6 years ago.

Hi Sillypoint,

TMP is full of people who can advise you. Blogs are great, but few reply unless you are high profile it seems.

What interests you at the moment? Why not take that and expand it.

For example if it is AWI/ACW/WW2 then why not go for two small opposing forces. You can always expand.

I just use my blog as a source to post images to TMP threads as Flickr won't allow a direct link.

Ask away here.

Are any of your projects of interest to your club?

Except for certain projects that I'm personally very stoked about, I generally find it much easier to get projects done that I know will see battle soon. Even moreso if I know others in the club are -or could be convinced to- get involved in the preparations.

The best is when there's a deadline. Maybe announce a date for a game related to one of your projects so you have no choice but to complete it?
