Just uploaded a montage image of the new Carthaginian Veterans to the Victrix homepage victrixlimited.com We went for a slightly more dynamic pose selection for these Veteran figures. Leaning into the action but able to still be ranked up easily. A few more arm options are available but not on show. Emel has done a fantastic job on these, he is really hitting his stride and we will have the Libyan javelin men to show next week. These are off to the toolmakers on Friday and tooling is progressing nicely with the Command frame and the Libyan spearmen. Steve. |

Those are stunning, nice dynamic poses yet able to be ranked up. Dang I will have to get back into this period. |

These are looking very good Steve – be keen to get some when they are released. Will transfers be on the site with the spearmen? Looks like my XMAS present………. Interesting that you went with shorter spears than originally shown. Garry |

I'm confused by this. There are photo's of spearmen in Roman kit here, but also more traditional kit on your site. Are there going to be two boxes of Carthaginian spearmen? |

Glad people like the look of them. The detail will be on a par if not better than the Roman sets we have out at present. The set will have Veterans, Libyan Spearmen in Lino-thorax armour and Libyan javelin men in the same set plus command frames. Citizen infantry will be a separate set which should be out around the same time and sculpts are being worked on for those at present. The spear was short on the original Veteran we showed off a while back but we reduced a bit further as I still felt it was too long. The pose has been altered from the original figure we showed at Salute also. The great advantage of digital sculpting is that it is pretty easy (in comparison to traditional 3 up sculpting anyway!) to make alterations and tweak the sculpts. Poses can be altered and equipment altered quite quickly. I had an email chat with Allen Curtiss a few months back before finalising the Libyan spearmen in Lino-Thorax and took on board his suggestion to lengthen the hems of the tunics a bit and also to have less Hellenistic inspired helmets in the set than we were going to have, just to give the figures a more distinctive flavour. It would have taken weeks to make these changes a while back and so is really freeing. I will be making transfers for these as well as the Round Libyan shields. Regards, Steve. |
