Long story short is that I'm building a 28mm Prussian force for FPW using Foundry figures. The problem is that I need some mounted officer types to use as Force Commanders and Staff Figures. (something required by our rules) Foundry makes a "Staff set", but these are not suitable, and indeed the only mounted Prussian officers they seem to offer are command figures for their cavalry ranges. So who else makes suitable mounted senior officers? A search online has found the Castaway Arts line. Is there anything else out there that might work? Martin |

You might find something suitable in either Crimean War or World War I ranges: link link

There are various figures, ways and means! Foundry did some single mounted officers. Chaps in the middle of the photo are a couple of dismounted Prussian officers chatting over a captured Mitrailleuse:

[/URL] Have a look on my photobucket – Bovington 2012 and Black Powder various command stands single and double with Castaway, Foundry and Helion 1866. (As at now Photobucket appears to have thrown a track and is not loading!) Tally Ho! |

Hi, I have Foundry mounted officers, mounted infantry commanders, and cavalry troopers for my 28mm FPW armies. I scrounged up some 28mm 1870 Bavarian mounted figures for my mounted 1870 Bavarian officers. But Castaway Arts has individual horses and riders for sale. Good luck, Blake |

Ok thanks, guys. It looks as if the currently avalable FPW sets from Foundry do not include the mounted command figures. (unless I'm just blind and can't find them on their site) Martin |

May i suggest you Spencer Smith…they are labelled as 30mm Old Fashion types..but they are well detailed and proportionate,,,their mounted officer with separate arm that could be substituted with an arm holding binoculars/maps ecc..with some minimal conversions are among my favourite..they offer mounted officers for every troop type.. from same manufacture you can also purchase Willie Miniatures ..their FPW/Crimea range include the German Kaiser and some totaly useless, for wargame purpose, Cantinières..wich add a nice touch at your HQ groups…one of them on a particular interesting pose..at least for me :-) |
