I've had a couple of these ships for years and want to build and finish them.

Unfortunately they have a fair number of 'bubbles' and broken details (railings, pilot house, etc.

Nothing major, but I'm stumped as to how to fill these in.

I've tried several putty mixtures, but most just break off when I try to sand and finish the spots.

Anyone run into this and have a solution?

Beautiful ships, just want to finish them to look as good as possible.

Thanks,

Dan

Smooth-On, a mold and resin company, sells a two resin that forms a paste and can be used to fill in holes. Just clean the resin real good first (I use acetone – finger nail polish remover)

The trial size costs about $34 USD but would last you quite a while. It can even be "pushed" into molds if you have to recreate a rail or part
