Is there any place for a listing of manufacturers or games that are for solo play? Of all kinds not just miniatures but board as well

Good list that I frequent often.
If you don't see a game you're interested in on that list, check the forums for that game's board game geek entry; most games will have solo variants posted.

I have never found a board or miniatures wargame that I cannot play solo. Well, with one or two exceptions – AH's Jutland, for example, relied on a search system that would not work solo, but the vast majority of games are quite playable solo.

Can heartily recommend the various Piquet games. As they are card driven, what each side can do each turn is dependant upon those cards, giving you the random element you need for solo play.

I second the MYTHIC GME recommendation, and the Piquet rules.

Many games not intended for solo play still can be played solo with a little imagination.
Battle Cry, Memoir '44 and other "C&C" type games are quite easy to pull off solo: just draw a card for the "opponent" and do what it says in the best way for the opponent, or use a "flowchart" system of priorities.
Ogre is easy to game solo. "Move Ogre towards CP. Ogre shoots at most powerful enemy in range, or CP, in descending order." You play the defender. You'll still have a hard time winning.
I've gamed Warmaster solo (quite easy to do), X-Wing, and Wings of War/Glory. There's a TMPer who's worked up solo systems for X-Wing and WoW/G. Search for topics by herkybird. For me, I just use the "best option" rule for X-Wing, and go with random maneuver cards for WoW/G (makes for crazy dogfights, but it works!).

I wish Boardgame Geek were easier to navigate with my screen reader. :(

What I'm curious about are games who's rules are available electronically somehow. THW games certainly are, and I already have a few of them. Anything else I might be able to get started with that won't require me a to buy a physical box and counters and so on?

I`m curious now, can your screen reader read pdf files ?

Brigadier General WW2 is a solo-wargame.

I made up my own rules cobbled together from ideas I picked up at various conventions, I then apply these to settings that I feel like gaming about. I was doing my own version of Kolony last week for example.
