"Neat armoured fighting demo video" Topic

This is pretty interesting. They did a similar type thing when I was at the Royal Armoury in Leeds, although it did go a lot faster and involved a lot more fighting.

It does show how mobile people could be in armour.

Very interesting. I started looking for gaps in the armour, just like my ancestors might have done.

If you have armor that stops you from doing any fighting move that you can do without it on, you need to have it redesigned and or worked to fit you better.

I have spent a lot of years doing everything you can think of in armor (even sleeping)

I saw that demo at the Royal Armouries too. A fight between 2 guys in plate armour using Pol Axes. They ran it 3 times. Once at full speed, secondly at slow speed pointing out attacking options and weak points, and then again at full speed. During the second run through one of the guys lay on his back in the armour and quite easily sprang to his feet, pointing out how flexible it was and easy to move in. He pointed out too that the myth of heavy plate armour and knights winched onto horses came from later centuries when jousting was revived as an entertainment but the skill to make the armour had been lost.

I've also seen the guys at the Royal Armouries, as well as plenty of other re-enactments etc.

An armoured man has virtually the same mobility as an unarmoured man. The difference is that the armoured man will get tired much faster!

That would be why you can sleep in armor :) without a problem :) see linked photo.

and really you should be able to do any thing in your armor except swim :) we have played basket ball, foot ball, and beach volley ball, for training in our armor. Not just fight in it.
