Is there a set of rules that would allow carrier ops and ship-to-ship engagements on the same 7'x5' table ? I'm thinking of either hypothetical 1930's encounters or those from early war (39-41) TIA |

Tim Gows 'Iron Ships and Wooden Heads', in fact we often go carrier hunting with our shiny battlecruisers;) Hypothetical 1930s stuff (when aircraft carriers didn't work very well), we've also done it with Fletcher Pratt. It all depends on your ground scale and of course the scenario. Escort carriers on the Murmansk run have a bad day with the Tirpitz? |

General Quarters 3. The rules contain all you need for early 1940's naval combat. It has a supplement, "Sudden Storm", with rules for 30's naval combat. I'm planning a battle between Task Force 5 and the Japanese Davao invasion force in Dec. 1941. |

I plan to do Naval Plan Orange, US vs Japan in the 20 or 30s. I was thinking about using Naval Thunder by Steel Dreadnought Games but I might have a hard time finding stats for the pre-washington treaty ships. Any set of rules where by you can design ships would be good. I have Grand Fleets 2 and Starmada:Dreadnoughts both by Majestic 12 Games. Figure Head 1/6000 scale ships will do for minis. |

I was thinking mostly of the hypothetical North Atlantic clashes with various German ships. ISWH has quite an appeal because it's going to be quick and dirty but still has airstrike options. |
