We have just moved to Midlothian, VA., outside of Richmond. Is anyone aware of any historical hobby shops in the areas? Thanks – Hal |

Dunno if FTW carries anything beyond possibly Bolt Action (I was only there once) but it was a very nice store. ftwgames.net |

I had no idea FTW existed. Their hours of operation are brilliant. Thanks for posting. |

Kind of envy you for being able to visit them. Of course, that would mean I'd still be dealing with NCA traffic so the envy evaporates pretty quickly :) |

One Eyed Jacques in Cary Town and Dragon's Den in the west end are the other "real" hobby shops. There is also a Hobby Town not far from Dragon's Den. But FTW is my favorite. mike |

Hal, does your moving east mean you will be attending conventions in Lancaster? After enjoying MWAN for so many years I'd love to meet you and say hi and thanks. Steve DeLucas |

FTW is a great store. I go by there just about every time I'm on that side of the river. However, they don't carry anything in the historical miniatures realm. They are primarily fantasy / sci fi. |

Hal, welcome to the Richmond Area! Hobbytown is not exactly close to Dragon's Den (Dragon's Den is over in Short Pump), but a bit closer to Richmond on Broad Street. There is a Hobby Lobby in Short Pump, but they don't stock any gaming stuff (except for some 1/72 models and the like). One-Eyed Jacques (mentioned above) has been around for quite a while, but doesn't carry much in the way of historical miniatures (though there are board games there). Rob |

Somebody on Dakka just announced FTW is closing its doors? I would contact the store directly to confirm. Their facebook page seems to confirm link |

Says on their website they store was sold to new owners who will be opening again soon. Hey guys I just wanted to get on here and say thanks for four and a half great years at FTW Games. It's been a blast being part of the gaming community here in Richmond, but the time has come to move on and try something new. But fear not, there is a bunch of great spots still left to play in the area, and I'm sure we'll see a Games Workshop added to the mix here soon too. So happy gaming from the staff at FTW Games! And Hey everybody I just wanted to jump on here and let you know that the contents of FTW Games have been sold, and that new owners will be opening the store back up this Monday October 13th! In the end I felt that rejecting a larger offer on liquidating the store and accepting a smaller one to allow new owners to re-open the store was the right call. Ray and Nathan will also be honoring a portion of the store credit some customers had built up at the store with their purchases etc to help keep the gaming community going strong in Richmond. |

Saw this thread and was wondering: One eyed Jacques, battlegrounds, and warhammer store are the big three games stores in Richmond as of this writing. Any other way besides asking here to verify this? Google just told me dollar tree was a hobby shop, and it kind of makes me think we have hope if sky net ever becomes real. |
