I recently went through my Histoire et Collection book on French flags and was reading through the chapter on the French Revolutionary period.

I'm not certain if there is an error in the txt but I was trying to determine what the flag / standard carried by the various Federes Battalions would be. The book says they carried a standard with three horizontal lines, from the top down: red, white and blue. The same text, IIRC, states that the Reserve Battalions (number 1-31) carried the same flag but with blue, white and red.. from the top down.

Yet the images provided in the book – specifically for the reserve battalions – show the scheme in red, white and blue. They provide no images for the Federe battalions.

Anyone out there with some expertise / knowledge of this area that can provide info / insight?

Cheers!
