From Knoetel: link link The Frankfurt battalion that served in Spain in the "German Division" of the IV Corps. The Grenadier and ?Voltigeur? companies had epaulettes and tall plumes. The 4 center companies had shoulder straps, but carried short swords and bayonet scabbards on a separate crossbelt. The Front Rank voltigeurs of the Guard look great for the flank companies. They have straight-topped gaiters, cutaway short-tailed coats, French elite epaulettes, and pointed "Polish" cuffs. The Tirailleurs of the Guard figures are the same, but no epaulettes – ready to become Frankfurt center company men! The shako plate seems to be the only problem – need to convert. Has anyone ever used these figures to do the Frankfurt troops? GdeP |
