Before I even try to obtain any of these, I'd love to know how easy or hard it would be to repaint such a surface:
My goal would be to make them have a stone-like color and texture:

I would try out that stone textured paint i believe it comes in a spray can and is supposed to coat anything. |

I'm pretty sure some of the porcelain christmas houses I used to make my medieval village were glazed. link I don't recall if I used primer, but I think I may have put gesso over the snow areas and then paint and then brush dipped the whole thing. Some of the flock has rubbed off, but the paint-over is still intact.
