I have just seen 5 Meccano gears of war king raven helicopters in "The Works" for £24.99 GBP. I was wondering if anyone here knew how big they are? The toy soldiers you get with it are I think about 5cm high? I would like to know if anyone has got one as I might get a couple for 15/18mm drop ships. |

That looks like it would be better suited for 28mm gaming its huge, however i think it could be converted to 15mm with some very clever planning and a ample supply of polystyrene and bits box pieces… |

That's what I was thinking. It's large enough to maybe carry a half platoon if not a platoon of light infantry.(up to 30 or 50 figures)? |

A Google images search makes me think it's pretty darn big. Never considered one before as when I saw them in the shops I took one look at the figures and assumed these were going to be toy like. Definitely want to get one, but I'd use it for kit bashing into some scenery for a space port. That price is ok, you can find them in Australia for under $40. USD You may find a better price on ebay. |

I don't think it would have any issues transporting a full platoon and maybe a light vehicle or two on a lower level deck. |

Found some interesting pics of it in the hands of kids. I believe you're ok in the cockpit area. Working the rest of it should be a piece of cake. Sorry I can't share them at the moment. My employer suppresses access to a lot of pages. well, I did come across this exploded view in a Russian blog. The thing is held together with screws, making disassembly very easy.
OK, I just found out that you have to put this together yourself. Now I really want it! |
