For old Vets here: I was dicussing the 1988 video "Gettysburg in Miniature" by Jeff Leighton with a wargaming friend who told me that among the figures used in the film were items from the late, great Peter Gilder's FOREMOST range. When I replied that FOREMOST did not release any ACW figures, he said that they were from a privately-commissioned collection of FOREMOST 30's…..Wild stuff to me but I can't help but ask if anybody has any info on this…….

Don't know about the figs but I've had the VCR tape since 1988. Very cool video(there are some HUGE eyes painted on some of the figs though!).

Actually, your friend is wrong. The figures used for most of the scenes were the 22mm Stone Mountain Miniatures line.

I corresponded with Jeff a great deal during the making of the video and afterwards we were the sole distributor of it.

I had my VHS of it converted to DVD. Still a great film.

I dont know about the film but there were / are Foremost ACW figures but they were not sculpted by Peter Gilder. If memory serves me right ( I used to own some ) they were cast open handed with seperate rifles. I am pretty sure Hinds ( who sells Hinchcliffe now ) still lists them.

Dave: I know it's true re: Stone Mountain 22mm predomiating in the vid; I had wondered about some of the remainder that I did not recognize…..

Murawski: Now that you mention that,I recall what I think were Hinchliffe "X Range" figs that were ACW with separate rifles…..I don't know, but I suspect those may well have been Steve Hezzlewood sculpts……

Yes, you are correct, they were the "x" range. Very nice figures and years ahead of their time.
