I am in need of 18mm standing draught horses. Does anyone know of any. I know Minifigs, but they are on the small side and I need to be able to mix these fellas.
All the sets I have seen are galloping/trotting and quite useless for me.

Essex have two draught horse models and will sell them to you without the limbers. They are chunky enough to fit with 18mm figures although not quite as tall. Both models are in standing poses, one with head up and one with head down. I just finished painting 48 of them and they look good.

Crikey 48!

Are they code NE42 or do I have to ask specifically? Also French I assume?

Eureka Miniatures have their own line and have some large 18mm draught horses.
Check out the site under Eureka Miniatures Seven Years War 18mm Russian 300SYW356h and 300SYW357h. They also have oxen if you are into cows.

The Eureka horses are on the move, not standing as you requested.

Naismith are usually small 15mm but their Prussian and Austrian artillery horses are bigger and are in a slow walk pose. The Austrian horses come with a reasonably sized driver (reasonably generic); the Prussians have no driver, though one of each pair has saddles.

In height the Austrian ones are about the same as my Old Glory cavalry horses (or perhaps just a tad smaller) – my AB cavalry are inaccessible at present, but I think they are similar in size. But they are quite beefy – and wider than the OG horses. This is OK for a draught horse. Having said that I would say the same of my galloping Minifigs limber horses. If Minifigs are too small then these might be too. The Prussian ones are slightly longer but slightly thinner, and definitely look all round bigger than those OG horses.

Worth mentioning if anybody else is picking up this thread looking for inspiration on draught horses. I find these Naismith artillery horses very useful. They look good and they don't cost much. I much prefer them to the over-stylised Minifgs.

The QRF castings are Freicorps. In my experience they were small even for 15mm. It sounds like the Naismith ones are going to be too small too.
HMMM…

I think I ended up using Minifigs horses (and limbers) with my AB Napoleonic artillery, they look OK.

I've managed to dig out some AB Bavarian cavalry, and the Naismith horse do look a bit small

picture

This not very good picture shows Prussian limber and horses, Minifigs left, and Naismith centre. On right are AB Bavarian dragoons painted as Baden.
The Naismith stand up to the Minifigs and OG, but not to the ABs – though the Bavarians are amongst their biggest figures I thought the horses were standard.
