Hi guys I've started a 28mm Sci-fi cowboy project, but as I'm too tight to spend on lots of money on new mini's I've been slapping the greenstuff about again and have converted some old plastic necromunda fig's into Sci-Fi Banditto's.

Thanks for reading.

Interesting account. I went back and read all three sections on converting these figures.

Clever reuse, and nicely executed! I need to turn a critical eye to what I've got lying about…

Nice work, quite an improvement from the stock figures I'd say.

Really digging the look on these. Could be an "Ash Wastes" necromunda gang as well. I also went back and looked at the earlier articles and highly recommend others do the same.

I think those "mayhem miniatures" rifles in your part 1 were originally part of the "High Command" 40k knock-off line.

Many thanks for all tne positive comments guys, Ordinarybass yes I think your right, Mayham did some quite nice figures (I seem to remember Space Skaven types too though never bought any of them) I wonder if anyone ever took over the range?

My son and I actually picked up the necromunda box game in a bundle of games workshop stuff from a charity shop near us a while ago (he loves the scenery) but niether of us were impressed with the figures. But I have since used the Goliaths in our Superhero games and now these for our Sci-Fi wildwest. So my advise is never throw anything away (just don't tell your wife!)

Cheers Roger.

I tried to hunt down the range. It appears that Kenington acquired Mayhem and produced the fantasy ranges for a while. MBM carried Kennington in the past, but no evidence that they ever sold the sci-fi figs. An email to MBM got the reply that SHQ has the line, but an email to SHQ was never returned. If you decide to take up the trail let me know what you find.

I had a couple of "ratten" space rats and still have a 3 of the not-IG commisar/officers that I found MISB! You can see the review I did when I opened the pack here:

Sculpting is not great. Kind of on-par with the Grenadier K-Force figs that later became the core of the "Shockforce" troopers. However, I think if they were offered at a low price-point like EM4 or Megaminis they'd probably sell all right. The separate weapons were a really nice touch and makes it very easy to bring them into whatever game or faction you want just by gluing in the appropriate gun.
