There's a useful little book on the conflict by Ralph Weaver complete with flag and uniform details.

I saw a copy in a Hay-on-Wye bookshop.

I was really tempted but I stopped myself from buying it as it would only get me into another period

Mr. Weaver also did an article on the war (including what 28mm figures to use and a scenario – Gislikon) in Wargames Illustrated #303.
