I've been playing NapCom since v1, and I think it's one of the unsung classics of the period. A truly unique and elegant approach to Napoleonic warfare.

I wonder if Jeff & Co. ever developed their ACW rules beyond the first edition?

Cheers,

Christopher

yes I must agree as for the ACW that would be interesting to see.

Looks good. I've bought them but never played them. Might be time to rectify that.

Just ordered a copy. The PDF arrived so quickly it was almost instant gratification. Thanks Jeff!

Hi Christopher,

Unlike the first edition of Napoleonic Command, over a decade of playing Rifle Wars Part I (the ACW rules to which you refer) has not uncovered any aspect of the rules that I wanted to change . . . hence no second edition.

I have received multiple requests to re-release them as a pdf, and to include the unpublished Part II (which covers the European theater, late 19th century) but I just haven't made the time. Lots of irons in the fire.

Cardinal and Big Red:
You're welcome. My pleasure.

Looking at the Russians, in NC2, depth is your friend.Don't spread the brigade out in a great long line, use the battalions 2 up and 2 in support. You've very vulnerable to a concerted attack.

Christopher,

I'm trying to hold Jeff's feet to the fire over RWII – Europe.

Hi Jeff and Elliott,

Glad to hear that RW have worked out in the long term, and that you're keeping busy! I've been pleasantly surprised by the continuing interest in the ACW here in Helsinki, and since I'm graduating from smaller regimental scale actions I was thinking of taking RW off the shelf.

Cheers,

Christopher

(sorry for the thread hijack!)

Speaking of which, I would love to hear how you guys modeled the status markers on the tabletop. I have plenty of mounted brigadiers, and prone casualties and fleeing/surrendering markers, but they don't seem quite right.

We typically use a small dice next to the formation commander to so the disruption points. Jeff edits them out of the photos ;-)

We've discussed using markers for disruption points using figures but there is a lack of these in 10mm. The dice seem to do the job.

I would be very interested in that!

Me too. I will buy these rules now;)
Any way to get my hands on a copy?
Mike
