Great job as per usual. I'd say you've absolutely nailed the balance between accurate colours and the demands of the tabletop for 20mm – too 'right' and everything fades into blur – too exaggerated and it gets cartoonish. In 15mm I think it's more difficult and the figures have to come out a bit over-shaded when looked at close. It is just the limitations of the scale. Overall 20mm is my choice of the larger scales. Partly this is traditional – Airfix nostalgia and all that – but mostly it just works best. For anything bigger than 2 platoons on a side I'd still go with 1/300th. |
