Rhingyll, those Pontooneir Ghurkas look great. I got some at Historicon About 5 years ago but still haven't painted them up yet as I have some Foundry and OG ones already painted. I like the green you used.

Do you still have those Highlanders for sale?

SgtGuinness: Sent you an email. I am glad I got the Pontoonier Ghurkas when I did as I see that Newline Designs only has the command sets listed now. They might be selling out of their stock of Pontoonier. I have Foundry and Old Glory Ghurkas as well which I mixed into one unit. But they are painted with khaki Jackets and green trousers to distinguish between units. I call them the 5th Ghurkas and the Pontoonier the 2nd Ghurkas.

Very nice as usual, Rhingyll!

Bummer about the Pontoonier Gurkhas not all being available from Newline Designs anymore. Hopefully they will get more in stock, as has happened at least once before.

Weren't the 4th and 5th Gurkhas both at the battle of Kandahar/Baba Wali? I suppose you can use your "2nd Gurkhas" as the 4th and be all set, at least for Gurkhas!

Mad Guru
I was doing a little research and I think I actually may start off with the Battle of Ahmed Khel. It is a simpler set up and I can pretty much field all the troops except for some cavalry to call the 1st Punjab. My goal would be to fight this sometime around Thanksgiving.I am really hoping the Perry Bros come out with some 1879 Gordons for Kandahar. Other than that I have Foundry Highlanders painted as Camerons that I can use.

Great set-up. Are those buildings scratch-built or ready-made?

Rhingyll22 Sep 2014 1:15 p.m. PST

The buildings are Crescent Root Studios and come already painted. In my opinion, they are the best buildings out there for Middle/East Afghanistan at a good price,
