I also like the French idea of calling these Daesh (pr. "dosh") instead of ISIS or ISIL because they hate it! |

So the so-called 'rifle droppers' dropped rifles on the Kurds! I keep reminding France-bashers that if it wasn't for them, we'd be British. En Avant! Le Grande Panache!…just send in Jean Reno… |

Why was my reference to a Mojo Nixon song deleted? When did Mojo Nixon become banned? or is it just because somebody at the TMP doesn't understand American music that my reference was deleted. Crazy censorship. For that editor that doesn't know who Mojo Nixon is, here's the link. A great song about being a student in an American high school. I guess you'd ban it if you didn't go to American high school. Sad that that is who is now the editors of this website. YouTube link The song has a line in it at the 3 minute mark that says: "Ra Ra Re, kick'em in the knee, Ra Ra Ras, kick'em in the other knee" Which is the line that was deleted from another's post. Guess you wouldn't know this if you didn't listen or were experienced to American culture and just wanted to knee jerk react to something you didn't understand. I've given money to this site before but, that thought just went away. Sad what this site has become. Worried about offending ISIS with lyrics from a Mojo Nixon song? Just in case you think that Mojo Nixon is some sort of political song writer here is his classic: "Debbie Gibson is pregnant with my two-headed love child" YouTube link or his tribute to Elvis returning YouTube link oh hell, just go to youtube and type in his classic album "Root hog or die". Great songs. |

I don't see the point of airstrikes by the West. Only one war in history was ever won by airstrikes, and that was in August 1945. What we need to do is either leave all the camel-ers to their own devices for 10 years or truly commit to sorting the ME out by sending in masses of ground troops and threatening to use emp weapons on the capital cities of those who support groups such as IS and Hamas. IMO anything else actually makes things worse … |

Glad to hear a little positive news … I'd say "vive le France'", but I'm afraid to get snip'd … The point of the airstrikes is to support local forces in combating ISIS and their ilk. It is not a silver bullit, especially based on the past conflicts in the region. Massive introduction of Western ground troops is not the answer. Not at this point. We saw that in both Iraq and Afghanistan … The West "hopes" [which is not a tactic], that the local forces can do the job, with their CAS, training, log, intel, etc., support. It's not a perfect solution, nothing ever is … but short of letting ISIS run rabid thru the area … it may be the "only game in town" so to speak … |

The "Vive le France" comment wasn't snip'd. It was outright deleted from ageofglory's post. I guess that was too offensive. |

Guthroth – I thought the point was the airstrikes were supposed to be backing up ground offensive sby the Kurds and Iraqis? |

Solzhenitsyn … maybe I spelled it wrong ? Or maybe it has not been noticed … yet … |

Yes, I agree stu, [rare, but yet it happens ] … As I said, The point of the airstrikes along with SF, CIA, etc., is to support local forces in combating ISIS and their ilk. It is not a silver bullit, especially based on the past conflicts in the region. Massive introduction of Western ground troops is not the answer. Not at this point, IF ever. We saw that in both Iraq and Afghanistan … The West's "hopes" [which is not a tactic], that the local forces can do the job, with US/NATO/etc. CAS, training, log, intel, etc., support. It's not a perfect solution, nothing ever is … but short of letting ISIS run rabid thru the area … it may be the "only game in town" so to speak … The Germans sent 100 Paras to train local forces. As did the Canucks with 50-100 SF types and even the "ANZACs" sent a large number of troops as well. Unless the locals get their acts together, with the West's help, ISIS et. al. will be running much of the region. And it appears the Big Gun moslems in the area, Turkey and the Saudis think they can stand-by and let someone else to do the fighting … Or they just don't care … |

And just to note, the Ed. messaged me previously, saying that "cheerleading" , which I had the predilection to do, would not be tolerated … and I've been warned … So take heed boys … |

Destroy the oil wells they control and cut off their financing. They'll desert in droves once the flow of money stops. DM |

Yep, seems to me those rolling tanker trucks, and/or pipelines are definitely easy targets to take out from the air. Of course, Turkey won't be happy about the loss of low-cost, black-market oil, but that's the way the oil tanker catches fire, when attacked from the air. |

My question is: is this a one-shot operation or is the French Republic in this for the long haul? |
