I am an old school tabletop war gamer, but I was wondering if there are any "miniatures" games that you can play on the IPad. Not first person shooters, but actual tactical or strategic games that closely mimic our tabletop games. I have absolutely no idea about this sort of thing. Thanks for your help. |

Supposedly FOG is eventually going to be released for Android, so maybe for the iPad as well. Doug |

There is/was a Kickstarter running for an electronic "tabletop miniatures" game (looked a bit like Warhammer Fantasy). I can't find a link to it right now though…? |

Check out Shenandoah Studios. They have three games. One on the Bulge, one is the drive on Moscow, and North Africa…all are good. |

There is a "Cthulhu in WWI" game that's like a tactical RPG. |

I agree with Alastair, check out the John Tiller games, I think they are great. It took a while for me to get to grips with it because it lacks a tutorial. But now im hooked and I own most of the series. They also have a website I think.. Charles |

Another vote for Shenendoah – I'd start with the Bulge. |

There's a great tactical WWII game called Firefight you should check out. I've been playing it for years in its windows desktop version. It really gives a flavor of tabletop miniatures gaming. link |
