Nigel Belmont has been kind enough to give us his terrific fleet orders sheets. I use these myself! Enjoy!!! link |

Is there an option to play without plotted ship movement and use some sort of initiative system with alternating moves? |

I don't think there is one. You could graft one from another game though, like A Call to Arms: Star Fleet, or something similar though. |

The movement system as is has been an integral part of full thrust since the beginning. The whole idea is to try and guess what ur opponent is going to do and at the same time keeping him wondering what you are doing. All movement is simulataneous that way. With initiative based movement its too easy for players to react to each others movements. That said, there are some excelent player adaptations out there that do introduce initiative based movement. Anyone have any good links to those rules? |

I agree that the plotted movement system is superior on many levels. I just know that some people have their eyes glaze over when you tell them they have to write down the movement orders for each ship ;-) I suppose some play aids could help out. Like a dial on the base to indicate current speed, and counters for turning/acceleration. Just curious if there was an existing adaptation out there that worked okay with FT. |

I'll look around. I know ive seen some. One thing weve done w new players is to use preplotted movement chats for them so they dont have to do it themselves and they can see how it works. The first three turns will be plotted, after that theyre on their own. Most folks get it right away |
