I have Spanish family living in Northern Spain (near Vitoria). This was found in the ground while on a walk….it seems to be a lid of some type with what is left of hinges along one side, and Napoleon's head. Its not big, as can be seen with my hand.
Any ideas? Rosco |

Possibly a snuff box lid. |

I thought that, but the lid is actually quite thick and it doesn't seem quite big enough. A few more pics –

Looks a wee bit like a printing plate. |

@paulalba A printing plate would have writing in reverse which the example does not have. Best bet is still the lid of a snuff box. |

How could it be a bricole, it too substantive. The bricole is a flight of fancy, a mental zephyr floating on a conceptual breeze. It is a mystery wrapped in an enigma curled up inside a cloak of invisibility. |
