someone made some fantasy Egyptian court figures on a kickstarter, does anyone know if they have made it to market yet?

Thanks, that's them
would you happen to know if they scale well with Crocodile Games?

Dark Fable14 Sep 2014 2:15 a.m. PST

Hi, I will try to find the scale image I had with some of the Dark Fable Egyptians next to Crocodile Games, Foundry and Black Tree Design. Most sets are compatible with Crocodile games figures, although I have one set of concubines which are 25mm (the young concubines). We are having a new Indiegogo campaign in November which will feature several sets of undead, new personalities including pharaoh and several sets of Egyptian female guards sculpted by David Soderquist.

Those female guards are excellent – which company do you represent, Samnite?

I picked up several sets of Darkfable recently, excellent minis.

He's from link

Here's a comparison of some Crocodile Games minis with the original 3 harem girls (25mm) and one of the more 28mm sized ladies from a later campaign.

Hi,
Glad you like the female guards :) I own Dark Fable miniatures and design the figures. I'm really excited about the upcoming Indiegogo – sadly Kev Adams wont be doing any sets, he's returned back to work for Wargames Foundry. But David Soderquist is doing quite a few sets, the female guards, pharaoh, Nefertiti, tomb robbers. Tim Prow is doing some undead, skeletons and a mummy. Brother Vinni is doing some armed concubines and vampires. Andy Pieper is doing a bunch of animals and Ammut and Micah Nichols some Nubian hyena handlers. There are also quite a few stretch goal figures planned. Here's a couple skeletons Tim Prow sculpted

Here is a hamadryas baboon from the exotic pets set sculpted by Andy Pieper. This pack will also include a leopard and crocodile.

Too bad none of them have the grace and elegance of the Wall Paintings and friezes in the tombs and monuments.

TwinMirror18 Oct 2014 10:02 a.m. PST

That's rather harsh, Oschmidt. I think these are great minis that do indeed capture some of the grace of egyptian courtly life. Miniatures, as semi-realist sculptures, are entirely different from friezes and frescoes as an artform. So, do you want your egyptian minis to have their feet angled on precicely the same plane, their eyes in the centreof their temples, their arms hanging out from their torsos as if dislocated?
Or any of the many other stylistic conventions of egyptian pictorial art which just don't translate to a three dimensional sculpture – and which the egyptians themselves didn't employ in their sculpture?

I meant also to congratulate Mike for the new raft of egyptian mythological creatures – that kind of stuff is hard to find and should work in both 28mm and 1/72 (my preffered scales). Looking forward to the next crowdfunder!

Those Tim Prow Skeletons are great.
Please post a link when this goes live!

We are going live this Sunday 2 November – 12 core sets – a free reward figure for returning contributors – and lots of stretch goal rewards. A lot of great releases many of them suggestions by contributors. Here is the skeletal guard set I sculpted by Tim Prow, and the Exotic pets set sculpted by Andy Pieper

These are amazing sculpts. I'd never really considered doing a project in Ancient Egypt before. Now I am. Mr. Soderquist is one of my favourite sculptors in the industry, and Prow and Pieper look just as good.

Glad you like them! The campaign has just gone live and will last till 14 December. Here is the link to the Indiegogo Campaign:
