Hi, I was wondering about the Baccus figures. Do they mix well with GHQ or H&R? I'm guessing they would be more suited to H&R. Comments? Thanks

They are bigger and stockier than H&R. Personally, I don't think they mix well.

Does Baccus make WW2 figures?

Not yet, but they are working on it…..

No, I was looking at their new Great War range…they have Pioneers! Guys with shovels, picks, whell barrows! These can be used for almost any period 19th or 20th Century. I just didn't know if a stand of them would look absurd next to a stand of GHQ or H&R. I'm not that picky especially when it comes to unique figures but I've never seen abaccus in person before. Thanks

Baccus figures do not really mix with H&R. I don't know about GHQ.

Baccus are working on a WW2 range and the first releases are due soon. The figures are said to be the same size as their other ranges.

If it helps, the Baccus and Adler Napoleonic ranges are a reasonable match so presumably their WW2 ranges will be as well!

GHQ are somewhere between HandR and Bacchus. If you want WW2 figures Adler mix Ok with GHQ and would mix very well with Bacchus. Certainly the Napoleonic ranges are compatible.

Assuming that figure proportions are constistent across ranges…

From my experience in ACW, Heroics and Ros don't mix well with anyone (makes them sound like the unwanted guest at a party!).

Baccus is a reasonable match for Adler.

Agree with Consolus Paulus. Having said that, my ACW armies have H+R, Baccus and Adler, just not in the same units. Hard to believe the different interpretations of 6mm by three different companies. Adler are nearer 8mm in my view, they are quite nicely sculpted, but muskets are very fragile, so they are not great for handling on a wargames table. I actually prefer the H+R sculpts, most of mine date back to the 80's, so not sure if their modern production is the same.

You can't mix them in the same unit but I do have Alder, H&R and Bacchus Napoleonics – the units with H&R do look a little small compared to the other two, but when gaming I attribute it to poor diet as children

My Baccus (Romans) are around 7mm in height, whereas H&R are closer to 5mm (neither including their bases). A noticeable difference.
