Great job as usual, and I love the paint job! Thatīs a great story about the shotgun, I didnīt know that. I know what you are going through with these damn fiddly models. I just "finished" a Russian PO-2 from Smer that I bought in thrift store. By finished I mean it now resides in the parts box So be happy you got them done, and now you know what company to turn to when you need a modeling challenge |

Flying Circus, here I come! |

Thanks guys, TJ, this was the most colourful one in the set so that's why I chose it. The decals were a bit difficult to get in the correct positioning but I am happy with the finished product. Yes, Flashar must have been that very rare breed of pilot, one that flew through the entire war! I do like a challenge, but for Eduard kits I will be sticking to 1/48th scale ones for future projects! I'm sorry to hear about the PO-2… I hate having to give up on models. |

I suppose Flashar must have been more of an administration type, to get his first victory in 1914 and then only one more the rest of the way. But at least he lived to tell his grandchildren about them! The PO-2 will resurface in various forms from time to time. It was more than fiddly, and I happily noted that they no longer produce it. At least it was really cheap! |

@Texas Jack – PO-2 in the spares box : that's what SMER kits are for… |

Great work, Alex. You weren't kidding when you said this guy was even more flamboyant than the last. My den has an 11' ceiling and I'd be mightily tempted to hang plane models from it in a massive dogfight had I your talent. |

Albatri are the prettiest planes to ever fight, particularly in the splendor of Teutonic Whimsy personal markings. You really have to be careful gaming with the Eastern European kits, though. They are designed as models, and not gaming pieces. Airfix and Revell kits are a bit more robust, but limited in types. |

Thanks guys, Rrobby, the only problem with hanging planes from the ceiling is that you rarely see the top side of them! But it's a good idea. John, these are display models so there is no problem with the robustness of it. I know it's a bit cheeky posting a model on a wargaming forum, but the rest of the blog is about gaming! |

Texas Jack, Considering that Richard Flashar was a Jasta CO in 1917 and a Jagdgruppe commander in the following year, and given the example of other, better known, Jasta/Jagdgruppe/Jagdgeschwader COs (MvR, Udet, Goering) weren't 'administration types', I'd give a man with a personally-liveried aircraft from a highly successful sqn the benefit of the doubt as to his service record. |

Sorry inverugie, but I donīt know why you would think my statement was an insult. I know from personal experience, that a capable administrator is essential to get the most out of any military unit. The success of Flasharīs squadron underscores this. It is clear the guy knew his business, I just thought it interesting he scored the first kill for the Germans and then only had one more the rest of the way. |

Very attractive mini! As far as seeing the upper surfaces of an aircraft hanging from the ceiling, that's why you put them in extreme banks (over 60deg) or dives. |

A great paint job! But for those who may not be able to paint quite so well. Reviresco has 6 new full coverage 1/72nd scale decals sets for the Albatros D-V.
