Am I reading the assault rules wrong? As I read the rules theroretically infantry has unlimited movement in assault. You can move 6 inches in move phase. The 4 inches to close. With luck you win the assault. Then you make a 4 inch consolidation move. You move into contact with other units if you win the assault you get another 4 inch consolidation. Move into contact again win another assault. Get another 4 inch move and so on and so on. Is this correct? |

Not in 3rd edition, and not even in 2nd. |

Consolidation moves push back enemy teams, they don't assault them again. |

Only those teams within the assault distance (usually 8") are involved in the assault, everyone else stands around watching while those teams battle back and forth until someone wins. The winners then get to consolidate. A unit can only initiate an assault once per turn. |

So even a second platoon 3 Inches behind the assault must move back. Do Bailed vehicles 3 inches from the assault die? |

Page 167, the last sentence under Consolidation Movement paragraph answers question about platoons not involved with the assault and how close the victor can move toward them in consolidation. "However, no team can move within 2"/5cm of any teams from a platoon that was not a Defending platoon." Also suggest reading the FAQ on Battlefront's site.
