I'd like to make a model of the Silver Warrior to use for a campaign scenario I'm working on. Any ideas on figs I can use to put this together? I'd like to do it in 28mm preferably. Thanks all!

The Ral Partha Polar Bear chariot is still available from Iron WInd.

I have the RP Chariot, and it's a beaut. Not visible in most photos is the beautiful princess cowering in fright inside the cowl (or maybe she's just chilly). It's a nice little detail.

It's true-25mm, though.

If you really want a 28mm version, you can still use the chariot, and just replace the rider and the polar bears. There aren't many miniature polar bears out there, at least not without saddles and harness, but I've seen a variety of grizzlies, cave bears, and other large bears painted up as polar bears. Polar bears have a distinctive look, but for most gamers, other bears would definitely fall into the category of, "if it's painted white, it's close enough."

Also, note that Frazetta didn't paint any harness or reins for the polar bears. That shows just how badass the Silver Warrior really is. laugh

His sled is automotive; he's chasing those bears, which are conjoined quadruplets. That's my interpretation, anyway.

So, it's a sci-fi painting, not fantasy. Now it all makes sense!

thumbs up
