Having spent the past few weeks assembling my US forces for Chain of Command, we had a game on Tuesday to introduce the players to their new force and let them "test drive" them before we begin a campaign later this month.

The resulting game was a rather fun romp with something of an unexpected ending. We've posted a report on Lard Island News which can be found here:

Well, that's an interesting approach!

I have had this experience before when setting victory conditions that don't involve just killing everyone on the other side – one of the best was when we were playing Wings of War/Glory, and while the rest of were embroiled in dog fights the Little Prince (our youngest) remembered the goal was to get a photorecon plane off the board, which he promptly did – much to the chagrin of the adults in the room
