Has anyone ever used "Polyshrink" or "Shrinky Dink" for making heads up displays? Figure one could draw or print their own image on this stuff and then heat and shrink. One might make stain glass widows with it too. I think one could make their own special templates for games, blast markers, smoke screens, Please add your own ideas for uses! I've used Shrinky Dinks for making tokens for Dragon Dice. Tactical Tips: * Get the Shrinky-Dink brand-name plastic, it works much better. * For the brightest colours draw a reverse image (you draw on the roughest side of the plastic — the colour look the brightest when viewed from the reverse side) Related blog posts here: link The 2 columns in the middle of this photo (and most of the Wind Walk tokens) are show frosted side up. The others (and the 1 Wind Walk under the 2 columns of frosteds) are shown with the reverse shiny-side up.

Yes that's what I'm talking about, I'll have to give it a try figure I coud make all kinds of different tokens for gaming and alike. Thanks for the post. |

They do look super and work great. But are insanely time-consuming to make up. On the plus side, I did get to binge-watch all 4 season of My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic while making them =^,^= |

It's too bad you can't print onto Shrinky-Dinks… I may futz around with that for my hacker holos in Infinity. |

Graphix makes a shrinking film that is inkjet ready, they also make it in a varity of colors. My local JoAnn's carries it for about a 6 bucks a packet… |

Checking out Youtube videos, if I can get the shrink ratio right you could make all kinds of things that would be great on the table. |

The Graphix brand does not shrink as uniformly and consistantly as the Shrinky Dink and comes out with a rougher texture. Do a small test run if you want to try it. |

I made transparent HUDs for a near-future VTOL by printing displays on transparencies using my standard ink-jet printer and cutting it out. Also, printing your own decals, applying to a clear acetate or acrylic would work. I did this in 28mm, in 15mm I'd use transparencies to keep it thin. |

I used my laser printer and transparency acetate sheeting (for OHP) to make hacker holos for my infinity – and to make holo screens as well. The OHP sheets for inkjet require more faffing around (rather than just heat fusing the toner to the plastic) and my inkjet died – so it got replaced with a laser. |

The transparent sheets I bought were made for ink-jet (whatever that entails) and I had no problems. |

just another thought, if you were to do a space ship of sorts and could make display screens on the walls with an LED behind them that would light them up! |
