Hey I'm wondering if anybody can tell me more about the badges worn by retinue archers and billmen in the war of the roses. Ive been pretty successful in finding out about livery colours and such but have not had any luck finding what sort of badges were worn on their shirts other than what is provided in the perry boxes and various nobles coats of arms. If anyone can point me in the right direction for further research that would be great. Thanks |

link is a page from an Osprey. I wouldn't swear to the accuracy, but it is a start. |

You will find what you are looking for here: lanceandlongbow.com/shop.php Scroll down to the "Heraldry" -section. Pub 004 is "Standards, badges and livery colours of the Wars of the Roses", great little booklet and well worth 9 quid! |

Definitely worth it – I've been playing around with decals for them, and it's the most useful reference by a country mile. |

OK sounds great. What's your opinion on their heraldic banners books? Have you had a chance to look at those? |

Dom, some 28mm WOTR badge decals from you would make me very happy! |

Yes, decals are a much easier way of putting tiny badges on a couple hundred figures… |

lbms makes transfers of a number of badges. I haven't tried them. |
