Remembering Marx WOW Figures

If you were a kid in the 1960s who loved history and toy soldiers, you probably had a WOW figure!

I just got my hands on some of these figures. I guess they were licensed by Columbia Pictures and sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. They are pretty neat figures. I had never seen them before. There are four sets:

Creatures of the night containing:

Dracula seemingly in Bespin garb
Vampire Lucy
The Dark Coachman
A wolf's head shrine and three wolves.

Order of the Dragon Boxed Set:

Vlad the Impaler
Standard bearer
four impaled dudes (these are the coolest thing in any of the sets really)

Brides of Dracula Boxed set:

Three brides of Dracula
Four henchmen of Dracula
Lucy (presumably non-vampire this time)

Lost Souls in London:

Dracula
Dracula as Gentleman
Dracula in Wolf form
Dr. Seward
Mina
Lucy
Van Helsing
Harker

I'm surprised there isn't a Renfield in any of the sets. I don't remember the movie well enough to know whether he was in it or not. It has been about 20 years since I saw it.

Maybe there is another one of these sets.

The figs are true 25mm figures and are pretty well sculpted.

Just a neat little thing I came across today.

I remember these sets! They were nice minis. Lots of character.

Renfield is in the 1933 movie.

But, no Quincey Morris?

Tom Waits plays Renfield in the Coppolla Dracula

One of the Leading Edge sets had a Quincey in it. I believe it is the same as Van Helsing.

Would like to see pics of the figures …

I'm not seeing a Quincey figure in any of them. I have the little wrappers that came around the cases with the figures in them. They are quite complete in the original storage cases.

There could have been more than just the four sets. And maybe there was another set with a different Van Helsing in it, like with him in his X-Wing pilot outfit or something.

This was Leading Edge Games. Don't know if there was another Drac set, but they had some nice Alien movie sets too.

Are these available now in those sets ?
Or is that a nostalgia site?

how can you not remember Tom Waits as Renfield! maybe im just bias because he's my all time favorite musician. for real though, I would love to find these miniatures. do they make one for that awesome scene when Dracula was a giant half bat monster?

Great figures. Very small. More like old-school 25MM. You can find them occasionally on eBay for way more than they're worth.

I have the set with Vlad in and the speared people.Great little set and like others have said on the smaller side.
