Muskets & Tomahawks? There's an upcoming set by Osprey that looks like it may have individual basing too, although I could be completely wrong. |

Try Habitants and Highlanders or Rocket's Red Glare, from Canadian Wargames Group. They published a trilogy of games, FIW, AWI and 1812 all with the same rules that fit your requirement. Unfortunately, the AWI book (Whites of their Eyes) was just a scenario book without the rules. Good rules. Roll dice to see how many "functions" you can do in a turn, etc. |

Brother Against Brother works well, but it isn't easy to find. |

Or go to the Gettysburg Area Gamers page on the Interweb and ask Bill Molyneaux, our Fearless Leader, for our rules. They are the FIW rules, modified for AWI… I use them, and even The OFM can't argue they are fun or a good set. Well, he could, but then there's Maddie with her Anal Infections to distract him… Eric |

Donnybrook, very adaptable large skirmish game for the H&M period. |

Sharpe Practice has an AWI variant |

Feel free to check out the All the King's Men rules, which are available as a free pdf download: PDF link While ostensibly written for 54mm figures, you can use them as is for 28s. No need to modify ranges or move distances. |

I would second All the Kings Men. |

And there is also "The Sword in the Forest," a variant of "The Sword and the Flame," which is available from sergeants3.com . The rules are designed for individually based figures and figure removal as casualties are inflicted. Jim |

Muskets & Tomahawks. It's a skirmish game but scalable to pretty large games and moves fast. Lots of period flavor including formed ranks and hidden movement. I have two armies with well over 150 miniatures per and have no problem playing to conclusion in a few hours. Rules are attractively layed out, include force lists and are readily available online without much effort to find. Rabbit |

Sorry but I should have been more specific about this… I am not looking for skirmish rules. Rather something along the lines of General de Brigade or Bull Run to Gettysburg. I know that they don't use casualty removal, but I do play them with casualty removal. Not difficult if you use movement trays, as long as the rules allow this adaptation without fuss. I do not like the cluttering of a wargame table. So wich rules are out there that could meet that criteria without me having to graduate at West Point and take a week off to play 1 game …. |

Well if you like General de Brigade, surely British Grenadier would be an option? No casualty removal for individual figs though. |
