"I'm spotlighting some of the smaller films opening up this month in cinemas, for you today starting with FIELD OF LOST SHOES, a historical drama based on a true story of the American Civil War, culminating at the Battle of New Market in May 1864, when a group of teenage cadets, sheltered from war at the Virginia Military Institute, had to confront the horrors of an adult world after being called upon to defend the Shenandoah Valley. Leaving behind their youth, these cadets must decide what they are fighting for. Jason Isaacs, Tom Skerritt, Lauren Holly and David Arquette star" From Hollywood Spy.

I am currently studying in North Carolina and was wondering if anyone knew if this film wold be playing in this state as I would really like to see it |

I too am in North Carolina and can't find this movie anywhere. It's ironic too since I first learned about Field of Lost Shoes from a big billboard advertising the movie on southbound NC-17 just outside of Jacksonville, NC. |

Well it looks like this movie makes "Gods and Generals" look like the work of Sergei Eisenstein. link |

It is getting slammed by the reviewers. Once again a Civil War movie that wants to promote the Lost Cause myth to the expense of accurate history. |

we need more "good" films about the war ….this sadly now does not seem to be one of them? |

I stumbled across a copy at the local video store yesterday. It was a bad as I thought it would be. I rented it for five nights so my dad could watch it next; I'm not even going to bother. It was so bad it never even made it to the local dollar theater. @138Squadron, funny, I thought something along the same lines. What a wasted opportunity. |

If you want to read something that will blow your hair back, check out the comments by "Tom Cook"; it scares me that there are people in this country who actually think like this clueless wingnut does……….wow. |

Couldn't see a "Tom Cook" but no matter, there were enough morons to be going on with! |

I liked it for its historical time period accuracy, meaning background shots of buildings, towns, civilian clothing and other fine details. |
