We all know that it's not Napoleonic Discussion, or Ultramodern. It's too bad that we do not have statistics on this. It has been suggested that only Gentlemen in powdered Whigs and beauty spots go to the 18th Century Boards. However, there are those who suggest that George Washington was … less than loyal to George III. ACW can degenerate into talk of the traitorous Mister Lee, or into questioning the tactics of "Gentleman Billy" Sherman. Might I suggest the Zombies Board? How controversial can THAT be? |

And to add suggestions that will be ignored, how about we confine these to Boards that feature actual CONFLICT? Pre paint preparation would obviously not count, |

Y'know…after literally years of angst, dust-ups and bitter recrimination around this joynte…peace has finally been restored! Tell you what OFM (and everyone else for that matter), for once…let's let this all die down and die off. Okay? It's certainly headed that way now that the Stifle and Ignore problems have disappeared. All is well, all is calm…with nary an iceberg in sight. Pax, Pace…PEACE! Please. |

It's actually a completely secret board, you have to know the precise spot on the screen on the correct page of the site to find the hidden link. |

Scifi threads that don't involve 40K seem to do pretty well, because no one can usually link it to present day stuff. I don't see much yelling on the post-apocalyptic gaming board either. |

The Music board seems to be generally polite and happy. |

We all know that it's not Napoleonic Discussion The Napoleonic Boards has become much quieter over the years. The 'Idiot Tendency' drove off their francophobe opponents then largley went away themselves. There is only about one left currently and he's being helpful and not posting often. We haven't had a good food fight there in yonks. That said I miss the old gang, David Hollis, Gazzola, even Mad Hoffie under all his incarnation. |

I'd vote either for 'dice' or 'swedish wargaming' – they are all kind folk. :) 'Flat' and 'maps' seem relatively calm as well. Of course this is just guessing, nothing quite compares to having acutal having data. |

Well, I'll take a bit of the heat myself. Not sure if OFM's original post was light hearted and I still stand by what I wrote…there has been too much "heat" on this board for the past year. Having said that though, I very much appreciate the bulk of the replies that are light hearted and good natured. My compliments to you all. Corporal Pat…you and those who wrote in your support have my respect. |

McWong73 said: 15mm sci fi. Most open, diverse, tolerant, supportive and enthusiastic community of the TMP tent. I must agree. SYW is also quite nice. DJCoaltrain hath quipped: Colonials – being genteel is part of the genre. Indeed, sir, I find your surmise well-reason'd. John the OFM OP'd: It has been suggested that only Gentlemen in powdered Whigs and beauty spots go to the 18th Century Boards. It was damnably cold in those far-gone days! Nay, merely putting a wig on one's head was not enough to keep one warm. A wig and a beaver, well now you're talking… |

I'd say ultra modern because they are conflicts still ongoing AND there are a lot of members here who have taken part in those conflicts…….. With various degrees of baggage involved. |
Weasel | 13 Sep 2014 5:58 p.m. PST |
You could post a gaming related topic on ultra-modern. Neither of the 2 replies will cause a DH incident ;) |
