"Dark Continent is the follow up to 2010Œs Monsters, which was Godzilla director Gareth Edwardsf feature directorial debut. This one comes by way of director Tom Green, who has directed episodes of the shows Blackout and Misfits, and most likely exists entirely to flaunt heinous Earth-wrecking beasts in front of us for 90 minutes. Sounds good!"

I loved the first one…glad to see we will get a bigger glimpse of their ecology.

I've never even heard of Monsters, but I will go find it now. This follow up looks terrific!

The first one was genius in its subtlety. I was constantly scanning the background for glimpses of the …things.
This looks good. Thanks.

oooh. That looks much better than the first one.

Wow!!! They look different from the ones in the first movie. I wonder if that's a "after mating" look or something else.

Nazrat, the first one was indie, so you only saw it in small art theatres.

Looks very good.

Ah I did not realize this was a sequel and I never saw the first although I searched for it. I have been watching the various trailers for this for some time now and I am looking forward to seeing it. There might be some wonderful war game potential here. thumbs up

I wasn't expecting much from the first one, and I was very pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely see this one in the theater, too.

Man, I could so do that with either Tomorrow's War or Force on Force! Three-way battle – Regulars vs Insurgents vs Monsters!

Well after reading this thread I had to go ahead and stream the first movie and watch it. WOW! Great script, acting, cinematography, and simply gripping. For an indie film this was a top notch production that had so much depth and pathos. Clearly an multiple allegory about current immigration issues as well as being an cautionary tale about invasive species, environmental imbalance, and the director does a wonderful job of misdirection. If I say more I will give too much away and this is just too good of a small film to miss. Yea DWW needs to see this film. thumbs up
