Dear list

As a result of the previous post on "Objective Questions on Campaigns, and others, an interest group has been formed to study and work on getting together an International War Game (IWG) which is a game where players represent the kings of countries in the 18th century (or so) and handle the various aspects of war, economics, diplomacy, and social questions in their country.

Presently the interest group will be canvassing attitudes and ideas towards the formation of the game, no later than a year from now, or-- not-- if we can't get the project together. There is no cost for this, so it is not a "kickstarter" thing.

We will focus on design, inter-relationshps of countries, control forms and so forth.

This is NOT a place to get free stuff. We're only working with people who have had a passion for this type of game and it is very much an experiment to see if it can work.

I'm interested. I've long thought about doing a 'free'(as in no rules) game, set in a 18th cent Imagination. Any thing goes – you want to bribe someone to do something, you can, etc.

Dear Last Hussar

That's kind of the thinking. There will be some rules but personal initiative and imagination will also be allowed for.

Otto,
I'd be interested too.
How about a meritocratic leveller, post commonwealth, military nation.
High tech focused with wacky new devices.

Think Cromwellian Britain 100 years later entering the industrial revolution early.
