I think the whole deal should have been done in 1/72nd scale. The figures don't look good close up because of their small size and proportions. Love the tripods and the tanks are pretty good.

Well… I've seen some very nicely painted infantry so far so they do paint up well.

Having said that… I bought infantry from Blue Moon for my humans.

My intial kickstater infantry do paint up nice. But, I have also switched to using Blue Moon for not only my infantry but I also use their artillery, trucks, and Mk1 ammo & gun carrier.I highly recommend the Blue Moon stuff.

Well, the models are actually HO scale so they aren't all that far off from 1/72. I think if the line was a bigger scale then the tanks and tripods would have had to been bigger as well (and hence more expensive) so I think the sizes are perfect as they are.

This is rapidly becoming one of my favorite collections and I am fervently awaiting my big second box full of stuff.

They are 1/87 and so measaure about 20mm in height.

Better than typical fat 15mm stuff but it would have been much better to have gone 1/72 and "true" 20mm.

I'm sure they wanted to dodge people using 20mm plastics instead of there expensive 1/87 scale "offical" minis.

The tanks are about the same size as 20mm WWII era tanks.

Can anyone recommend some specific paint colors to use on the uniforms? Am I correct in believing that historically US uniforms for that time period would be more olive green or grey green and not khaki? I realize this is SF and the whole question really doesn't matter, but I would like to take the "historical" approach anyway. Just force of habit I guess.

Yes, the coats and trousers are a much more dark green color than WWII uniforms. The web gear is all khaki, however.

I've been using Field Drab (same color as wool uniforms in WWII).

Any other recommendations?
