Ok since that other thread is about finding 40K equivalents, I'd like to start a thread specifically for what I'm looking for. First off, I'm looking for a suitable model to represent a Land Raider. I'm not looking for exact replicas, obviously, just something that has the general look of a Land Raider. It would need to be larger than Brigade Games' Neo Soviet APCs, as those are the vehicles I'm going with. Thanks in advance. -Edgar |

How about regunning/upgrading WW1 tank kits? Take an Airfix Mk.1, replace the sponson guns with laser cannon and put a small turret on top. At least the base vehicle is not too expensive! |

I use 1/72 plastic models a lot, the 2 obvious choices are the Char B1 bis, Revel make an ex matchbox one, you could leave off the turret and add sponsons, or use an Airfix WWI MkI tank, with a little sprucing up. |

This is a converted Char B1 Bis, I didn't go with this, only because I was a little small against my Terminators, but that is mainly because I used very large figures for these, depending on the figs you use it maybe fine.

I think the Mark series tanks would be a better bet. IIRC, they're larger, and the sponsons are already in place,so there's less modification necessary. The shape is slightly different, but perhaps even closer to the Land Raider shape. I had a couple a while back and IIRC they were bigger compared to 15mm figs than the Char. As another alternative, maybe you could splice together a couple of these: link |

Thanks for the input. I'm using Ion Age Desteria Demi as not-Marines, so I'd need a larger vehicle. Does anyone have the dimensions of Brigade Games' Neo soviet APCs? |

Just Email Tony at Brigade models he will happily supply you with the information that you require. Actually the dimensions are below the photo on the site, both the Neo-Soviet Kunitsa APC and the Kunitsa Mortar Vehicle = Length 55mm Width 35mm. |

Thanks Avamango. I was at work on break and have a weak signal there. |

If you don't go with the Char B, you might look at a Grant. You could add sponsons to this one as well. |

You might also want to check out the All Quiet on the Martian Front tanks. Those are WWI-ish, and I was considering them for use with 15mm Space Marines as well. |

Yes, second on All Quiet on the Martian Front tanks. The plastic steam tank kit is modular, and can be assembled with same profile as a Mark IV or a Land Raider (rhomboid shape with sponsons). To me, it looks more like a Land Raider than a Mark IV does, because the Mark IV is relatively longer and narrower as compared to a Land Raider, but the Steam Tank is closer to the Land Raider in its length vs width ratio.

The question is Does it have to look like the GW figures or just thematically work as the GW armies? |
Gunner Dunbar | 07 Sep 2014 11:29 p.m. PST |
if it doesn't need to resemble a land raider, you can use anything. |

I want something vaguely similar if I can but will go another route if need be. I have a pack of the AQOMF steam tanks. I'll compare them to the Brigade Models APCs before I commit them to that role. |
