I have been playing some ECW using Victory without Quarter rules. I like the rules quite a bit, but being fairly new to the period I am unsure how the gun models I have should be classified. In VwQ, artillery is classified as either "Light" guns that have an 18" range(musket range is 12") and can limber and be moved or "Field" guns with a 36" range and can't be moved other than to pivot.
I have a Warlord Saker cannon, a Perry Minion (4 lb) cannon, a Perry Demi-Culverin (9 lb), and an older, visibly smaller, cannon of unknown make(Minfigs?). To muddy the picture a bit, Architects of War sells the Perry models, but refers to the Minion as a Falcon (9 lb) and and the Demi-Culverin as a Culverin (12 lb).
Visually, the Warlord Saker appears the heftiest. The tube of the Demi-Culverin is a comparable, but the carriage is significantly narrower and longer. The Perry Minion tube is smaller than the Saker, while the carriage is also narrower but of similar length. Here's the actual physical sizes of the models:
"Minifig" – barrel has 23mm length; carriage has 23mm width & 46mm length
Minion/Falcon – barrel has 33mm length; carriage has 20mm width & 55mm length
Saker – barrel has 44mm length; carriage has 28mm width & 52mm length
Demi-Culverin/Culverin – barrel has 46mm length; carriage has 23mm width & 65mm length
Any help/info you can provide is greatly appreciated.
