OK, first things first, I am a terrible model maker. I have no patience for bunches of little plastic pieces being glued together.

With that in mind, are there any T-55 Enigma wargming miniatures out there, other than the ACE or Trumpeter kits?

Years ago I passed up a couple of Cromwell / Combat Ready resin ones for $10 USD each at a flea market, be nice to go back and spend that $20 USD :)

Thanks. This vehicle is not critical for my projects, just thought I would ask.

In 1/72 only ACE and the recent Black Dog resin set (for the Trumpeter T-55). I have test fitted the ACE parts on an Easy Model T-55 and the fit seems good enough. One day I'll get to complete that little project.

The black dog looks good, but a little expensive for what I am doing…. maybe taking the ACE parts for something diecast I have would work.

Thanks.

I think Cromwell has one, but I'm not entirely sure how easy it is to get those, and they're not cheap.

They still list them… and the ones I saw at a flea market years ago looked very good. However, there seem to have been a few problems with ordering those kits. Not sure if anyone has ordered anything from them recently.

I would second the Ace/diecast combo, the armour blocks and frames are just about usable in that Ace kit……….a most unpleasant memory that put me off kits for a long time….!

Yeh, I've seen a few unfavorable reviews of the whole kit…. and like I said, I don't like building plastic models anyway.

Go to The Guild forum, you can find info there on ordering. It's not straight forward, but by all accounts it's legit and probably the best way to get them.

Cromwell's Enigma is 1/76. Not sure if that's an issue for you Chal- may look a little small next to your 1/72 K-63s and the FOV T-72s and whatnot.

Chalfant07 Sep 2014 5:09 a.m. PST

No, I normally don't worry too much between 1/72 and 1/76 (my Chieftains are all 1/76 for example… my T-80s are all 1/72)…. though I can notice it more with some things (I have 1/76 M-48s and a 1/72 M-48, they look different next to each other for sure). If there is a legit way to order from Cromwell, I might pursue that, if I decide I really need a T-55 Enigma.

If I do, I will be sure to post pictures.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Here's a link to a build of the resin kit mentioned by Leigh

Sad to say but I believe the Cromwell version is now out of production. I tried ordering one a couple of months back through someone who had regular contact with the owner of Cromwell but was told it was no longer available.
