Twice now I have read rumors here that Barbarosa will be out in October. Any confirmation or details? As with everybody else, I am surprised it took so long, particularly when you consider that most gamers would shell out mega bucks for the "new" tanks. Definitely, you will need MANY T-26s or BT models. |

"Mega bucks?" Not if you go with Zvezda! ;) Maybe the images in this forum thread will help move you from "rumor" to "fact:" link |

It looks like I will still need "Rising Sun" for a lot of soviet stuff. |
VonBurge | 05 Sep 2014 1:23 p.m. PST |
Looks like its pretty complete to me. What do you think will be missing from "Barbarossa" that you'll need from "Rising Sun?" |
Black Bull | 05 Sep 2014 3:02 p.m. PST |
Cavalry and T-26,T-28,T-35, BT-5/7 (assuming they aren't an alternative in the T-34 lists) |

I doubt very much that the basic Soviet tanks will be missing from Barbarossa. What will apparently be missing is the Hungarians and Rumanians |
John the OFM | 05 Sep 2014 6:40 p.m. PST |
What Black Bull said. The summary seems to have only T-34 tanks. Did the Hungarians and Rumanians come in right away, or later, like in Eastern Front. I doubt very much that the basic Soviet tanks will be missing from Barbarossa. I am very surprised to see that Barbarosa will "only" be a $30 USD book. I see a Compendium in the very near future. |

BF has already stated that the Axis Allies will be appearing in an add on book! The "Barbarossa" book is only $30 USD because it will be a soft cover book! There will be 8 German lists, and 4 Soviet lists no Cav., no NKVD Border troops, nothing too exciting otherwise. Just your standard armor and infantry type lists with the usual support options. Rather dull cheese considering how long it's taken them to get to the release point! |

Rather dull cheese considering how long it's taken them to get to the release point! What he said. Still, it's nice that they are, if only sluggishly, finally pandering to the Barbarosa fans. It's still puzzling why it took them so long. |

Hi John! Don't forget that Rising Sun also has lists for the 1940 Finns as well as their Soviet opponents |
vagamer63 | 10 Sep 2014 2:36 a.m. PST |
Problem with that is the 1941 Finns had been reorganized from 1940, and then rearmed by their German Allies! Seeing as the book is about 6 years late you would have thought they would have had time to put more into it then just the bare minimum lists! Especially as nearly all the needed vehicle models are already produced. Is this a case of just a lack of effort/interest? |

vagamer63, I rather suspect it's another example of the GWisation of Battle front. Salami-slicing every possible new release in order to maximise the sales of multiple books. |

@Guthroth I hate to say this but I understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. You only have so much material from WWII to put out. Every release they put out is one release closer to the last release for the era until a new edition of the game comes out causing a reprinting in army lists. There is only so much material here and if they didn't do this approach and try to expand into other areas then there going to be closing there doors in a few years. My gaming group have had this discussion and while it does sting that we can't get everything at once, we have come to an understanding that sometimes this is "what's best for business." I want the game to be around for another 10-15 years but they don't have enough material left for another 10-15 yrs of releases. |

BF has shown they are more than willing to go back and update/redo books for previously released WW2 periods, and they have shown they are willing to expand outside of WW2, i.e. Vietnam, AIW, and now WW1. I don't think running out of WW2 "room" is a real concern for BF. |
Guthroth | 10 Sep 2014 3:12 p.m. PST |
And they keep ignoring the Korean war, the 56 Arab Israei, the SCW, and now 1914. |

There's always a future. Can't do everthing all at once afterall! Cheers, VB |

Salami-slicing every possible new release in order to maximise the sales of multiple books. If I remember correctly BF mentioned digital content to follow Barbarossa, but no additional books… of course the site is currently experiencing issues (they REALLY need to upgrade the hamsters to gerbils at least) so I can't double check… |

They've said Minor Axis will follow shortly in PDF form. I know playtesters have at least had EW Romanian lists in hand for a while now. |

I had a thought about this book…reminds me alot of sin city 2. Took too long to come out. |

Can't figure out why they jumped over Korea & the Arab- Israeli conflict. |
